In most professional circles, purity has become almost like a curse word. This is most unfortunate, but thankfully, as Zoseco is “House of Zosso” we can make our own House Rules, and as one of our four foundational pillars is purity, some house rules are specifically related to purity. Current as of 1 February 2025.
What does that mean in practice for members of Zoseco (whether in person or digital)?
Well if we look back at the Decalogue (10 commandments), there are several issues that most individuals in society find acceptable that we do not. Let’s jump into them.
Reverent Speech
As a space consecrated to the Immaculata, we do not permit taking the Lord’s name, Jesus Christ in vain or using it as a curse. Simply put please avoid expressions that misuse God’s name.
We understand this has become commonplace in society and might slip out from habit. If this happens, a simple apology to those present is appreciated, and we move forward. Our goal isn’t to shame anyone but to foster an environment of reverence and respect.
No Pornography
Many think pornography is “victimless” between consenting adults, yet the industry is actually a breeder for something even worse, destroyed families and human sex trafficking. As such, in this house (-eco suffix in Greek), Pornography is evil. We do not allow pornography. Most men, and many women in society view pornography on a regular basis, let alone on an irregular basis.
We do not allow pornography in any form on our properties, whether that’s on your own device, on paper, over the air, or internet,
You can take it a step further however, you can make a free Purity Pillar Pledge, or if you’ve by grace stopped a pornography addiction, you can take the fight to the enemy with the Purity Pillar Polemos.
Purity Pillar Pledge:
- If you accept this pledge, you are stating that not only are you fundamentally against pornography in our space, but you have also removed pornography from your life, our you would like to do so.
- If you would like to do so, we will help you get there. We’ve done it before, and found it to be life-giving. (And from the Catholic viewpoint, it’s a mortal sin as it breaks us fully from God. It is even far more insidious if you are married or would like to be married some day.
Purity Pillar Polemos (war in Greek):
- For those who have kicked pornography out of their lives, and now want to go on the offensive, we offer a path of conflict to destroy pornography, which by extension helps support the fight against human sex trafficking.
- Note: you may very well get targeted for legal action, being framed, etc for going after one of the enemy’s favored weapons. This may result in jailtime, prison time, conviction, charges levied against you, etc. At a minimum, you will likely become identified as a higher threat to the enemy.
Eliminating Pornography Addictions
- Many in today’s society view pornography, and/or justify it’s acceptance in society. However, many who are addicted do not want to be addicted.
- There are a number of resources available, yet ultimately Grace through prayer, sufferings and good works is going to be the most surefire way.
- Road to Purity by Dann Aungst is one such option with free material and courses. While I do not have any direct experience with this organization’s resources for eliminating pornography addictions, I recently learned about them and met some of their staff and trust they’re bringing in a tremendous amount of Grace through their prayers, sufferings and good works in Denver and all around the country. (My elimination of the addiction came in 2020 with a tremendous amount of unearned Grace from God, after a single prayer when I asked for help to stop it, He answered with a miracle. I trust the merit came in large part from folks like Road to Purity, if not them)

No Adultery
Professional spheres and ‘networking’ tends to create dynamics for status and competition, which allows for flirtation and the breaking of wedding vows. As such, we do not allow any behavior that can be seen as adulterous, flirtatious, etc. If you are married, then your marriage is sacred, and we respect that covenant vow.
(For fellow confirmed Catholics who are separated or divorced, our space honors the example of Saint Joseph and the Blessed Virgin’s pure devotion – our space or resources cannot facilitate dating or romantic relationships with others, as marriage vows remain binding – even when this path leads to lifelong celibacy; God’s will before our own.)
How Purity Connects with Our Other Pillars
Like the four pillars supporting the baldachin over a church altar, each pillar is essential to uphold the sacred space beneath. Our pillars of Purity, Protection, Peace, and Productivity work together to create and maintain a space worthy of our consecration to the Immaculata.
Purity and Protection: When we maintain purity in our lives, we become better equipped to recognize and protect against emotional predators and exploitation, while avoiding inadvertently harming others. Conversely, understanding predatory tactics helps us guard our purity against those who would compromise it. Fighting pornography directly supports the fight against human trafficking and exploitation.
Purity and Peace: True peace can only exist where there is purity of intention and action. When we eliminate sources of spiritual and moral corruption from our lives, we create space for authentic peace to flourish. This extends from individual peace to harmony within families and communities.
Purity and Productivity: A clear conscience and pure intentions allow for focused, meaningful work. When we’re not divided by internal struggles or hidden behaviors, we can direct our full energy toward productive endeavors that serve God and neighbor. This is especially important in professional settings where integrity and trust are paramount.
Together, these pillars create a foundation for authentic community and meaningful work, all oriented toward serving God through our consecration to the Immaculata.
